    Job Description
    Local CPA office in Castro Valley is looking for an Administrative/Office Assistant for the tax season (February through mid-April)
    We are a small, family-owned business looking for an Administrative Assistant to help us handle administrative duties and support the CPA/Owner during the tax season (February through mid-April). We are looking for an individual who is efficient and comfortable working directly with clients as well as completing tasks individually. The ideal candidate for this job is resourceful and very well organized. We are looking for somebody who is a fast-learner, has a hands-on approach and is eager to take on new responsibilities, as the need arises. We will be working together during our busiest time of year (tax season) and your dedication and flexibility will be expected and appreciated.
    Responsibilities and duties
     Managing office workflow by registering incoming calls, taking client requests and receiving/organizing/scanning documents
     Managing CPA’s calendar by scheduling appointments and updating him and the clients on any changes
     Answering and returning calls and assuming other receptionist duties when needed
     Responding to questions and requests for information (by phone and/or email)
     Receiving, sending and organizing incoming/outgoing mail
     Generating memos, emails and reports when requested
     Maintaining inventory of office supplies and ordering items, as needed
    Qualifications and skills
     Accounting/Administration/Business college degree preferred but not necessary
     Proficiency in MS Office with expertise in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
     Strong organizational skills and dedication
     Strong planning and prioritizing skills
     Professionalism in appearance and communication (front office)
     Professionalism and discretion in working with sensitive data and information
    February – mid April: preferred but not required 8 working hours per day, Monday to Friday 9:00am to 6pm (1 hour lunch break); Saturdays subject to workload and schedule of client meetings
    Compensation hourly/fixed/1099-MISC, depending on work experience and availability
