    Job Description: Office Assistant
    Reports to: Operations Manager
    Position Summary
    The Office Assistant (OA) is the face of the Chamber for most visitors and many Chamber members. While duties range from managing front desk activities to compiling event registration, the priority of the OA is always the person who calls in or walks through the front door.
     
    Responsibilities and Duties
    1. Greets visitors and guests.
    1. Provides answers to questions or utilizes resources to get answers.
    1. Answer incoming Chamber phone lines.
    1. Direct calls to appropriate staff person.
    1. Using the Chamber database, refers only members unless asked about specific business.
    2. Opens and distributes daily mail.
    3. Answers and/or distributes general email and fax inquiries and information.
    4. Accepts and logs event registrations.
    1. Enters into database and creates attendance report.
    1. Alternates sales leads to appropriate staff person using database to check prospects.
    2. Assists with organizing and staffing certain Chamber Events.
    3. Replenishes front office inventory or brochures and publications.
    4. Keeps Chamber publications, both printed and electronic current as needed, including:
    1. Clubs & Organization Directory
    2. Hotel/Motel Guide
    3. Area Information
    4. Others as may be assigned
    1. As available, assists staff with administrative duties.
    2. Other duties assigned by Executive Director or Operations Manager
     
    Part time, less than 20 hours per week.
