    Job Description
    Position: Office Manager
    Description: The Office Manager (OM) has supervisory, management and budget responsibility for the Chamber Office, Membership, Marketing, and Finance.  As a key member of the leadership team, the OM will demonstrate the attitudes, judgment and passionate ownership that inspire employees, members, stakeholders and the general public. In the absence of the Executive Director, the OM will be the Chamber’s Senior Staff member.

    Specific Responsibilities: To manage and improve the on-going functioning of:
    • The physical office space including configuration, stocking, supplies, cleaning, repairs, member displays and decoration.
    • Communications systems (including hardware), internet service, physical and virtual networks and software.
    • Office processes including but not limited to; mail management, invoicing and collections, new member management, and banking.
    • Growing, challenging, training and motivating direct reports in such a way as to create a healthy, professional and vibrant work environment
    • Chamber events including Mixers, Fairs, Festivals, Recognition and Awards Ceremonies, Seminars, Parties, Ribbon Cuttings, Volunteer Events, and others as agreed to by the Office Manager and Executive Director
    • Attends/Leads Committee and Working Group meetings concerned with his/her areas of responsibility.
    • Reporting Quarterly to the Executive Director regarding budget status and alerts, results for the prior quarter, and potential challenges for the upcoming quarter.
    • Member and marketing communication efforts including social media, email marketing and print campaigns.
    Pay Rate: Starting pay rate will be $17- $18 per hour, with opportunity for growth and additional compensation.
    Work Hours: While the office is open from 9am to 4pm, the OM will average a 32.5-hour work week. There may be additional hours due to Meetings, Mixers, Seminars, Festivals, and other Chamber-sponsored and Chamber-led events that occur before or after open hours and on weekends or holidays. There will be periods when business demands require more than a 32.5-hour week and the OM will be expected to meet those demands. Compensating time off for the time demands of peak period activity may be taken as approved in advance by the Executive Director.
    Qualifications and Skills:
    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
    • 2+ years’ experience in office management or office administration required
    • Clerical and secretarial experience involving a high level of public contact
    • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Publisher, etc.) proficiency required
    • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task
    • Strong organizational and planning skills
    • Thorough communication skills and ability to interact with internal and external partners
    • Ability to work in an ambiguous, rapidly changing environment; self-motivated
    • Bilingual preferred
