The Castro Valley Boulevard Streetscape Project The Castro Valley Boulevard Streetscape Project, currently under construction, is a major infrastructure project for the downtown core of Castro Valley, designed to stimulate private investment and improve the corridor for pedestrian use. The project includes construction and installation of widened sidewalks, "bulb-outs" at pedestrian intersections, relocated traffic signals, improved median islands with landscaping, street trees, sidewalk planting, irrigation for all planting strips, decorative pavers, and such street furnishings as news racks, bollards, tree grates, trash cans, decorative streetlights, gateway signage, seat blocks with public art on them, and banners. The "hardscape" improvements should be completed on the south side of Castro Valley Blvd. prior to Thanksgiving 2011; on the north side by April, 2012; and the "softscape" amenities by June, 2012.

The Castro Valley Boulevard Bucks The Castro Valley Boulevard Bucks promotion encourages you to visit your local Castro Valley Boulevard Merchants. The Boulevard Buck promotion expires after June 2012. There are two ways to participate in the program. Participants can print Boulevard Bucks that allows holders to to save on merchandise or services that the participating Merchant has identified as part of the promotion. Another way to participate is to enter to win the Boulevard Bucks monthly drawing.
